Canine Connections
The boxer is another German breed from the AKC kennel club working group and UKC Kennel club guarding group. The breed od dog gets their name from how the boxer uses their front feet. Boxers are a great family dog with lots of energy and require a whole bunch of attention. However, this is not a breed of dog to leave alone for long periods of time or chained up in a yard which can cause destructive behavior. They are a very loyal breed to their family. Boxers make great agility dogs for agility trials. They are a medium sized dog with a square build and very muscular with a short coat.
Some have no problem with the cold and others don’t mind it. At one time the boxer was used in WWII but because some dogs could not handle the cold others were chosen instead. Boxers have a good temperament but some can be dominate so obedience is very important. This breed comes in three colors fawn, white and brindle.
The white varity of the breed has been known to have health issues for example deafness skin problems.
Boxers ears can either be cropped or natural. Thier tail can either be docked or natural as well.
My family and I had the privilege of once owning a boxer whose life ended early at the ago of 4, he was a very energetic dog that loved to leap and was a terrific dog with my 8 year old who dragged him everywhere. Phoenix never minded the attention from my daughter Caylee, he loved every bit of it. Phoenix also loved to follow along when we went horse back ridding.
