Montana Little League Advances to US Championship Game

Montana has been in the national spotlight thanks to the Big Sky Little League Team that won yet another unexpected game against the Huntington Beach team.  Montana’s record is now 3-0 in the Little League World Series in Willaimsport, PA.

Ben Askelson hit a homerrun to lead off the bottom of the

seventh inning and send Billings, Montana to the US championship game in a 1-0 win.  The Billings, MT team advanced to the United States bracket final Saturday; Huntington Beach will play Clinton County, Pa., on Thursday.

Bruno Ruiz hit a ninth-inning home run to lift Mexicali, Mexico, past Maracay, Venezuela, 2-1, and into Saturday’s international bracket final. Venezuela plays Japan on Thursday.

If you’ve seen or watched the Little League players play, you’ll think your watching a little Major League Baseball game but it’s better than that.  I hope everyone in Montana watches and supports the underdogs as they have defied all odds to this point.  In fact, if Montana wins the game on Saturday, they will represent the United States in the Little League World Series Championship game.  Here’s a few links for those interested.  Go Big Sky Little League Team from Billings!
