If Montana is not aware of the Montana Tea Partiers, might we shed some light on what they do and how active they are.  This is an active group that continues to gain support, momentum and notoriety due to the many grassroots events they organize throughout the state of Montana.  As this group travels all around Montana; it’s very interesting how they stay so organized but on a state wide grassroots level.  Thought I’d share a little about them for those politically minded folks in

Our Mission
Montana Shrugged is committed to educating citizens about economic and constitutional issues which affect all citizens’ abilities to pursue their inalienable rights for the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.   Montana Shrugged is a collective group of grassroots organizers who engage citizens in the pursuit of limited government and free markets on the local, state and federal levels. The grassroots TEA Party organizers of Montana Shrugged strive to empower the public with opportunities to effect change in public policies that champion the principles of entrepreneurship and fiscal and regulatory restraint, i.e. balanced budgets.

Montana Shrugged is committed to educating citizens about a return of the federal government to its original Constitutional limits.  Montana Shrugged is also committed to empowering the States to take back the power granted to them under the United States Constitution.  Montana Shrugged group’s new media programs and public presentations aid policymakers, the media and individual citizens in understanding why policies which promote the American free enterprise system.   

Montana Shrugged supports the following general guidelines:

 Reduce taxes and government spending on federal, state and local arenas in order to minimize the encroachment of government into the economic lives of citizens.  We will fight proposed tax increases and educate the public as to the evidence of waste, fraud, and abuse.

• Promote the institution of Tax and Spend Limitations on governments to promote fiscal responsibility.
• Promise to promote entrepreneurship and opportunity by increasing citizen involvement in the regulatory process in order to reduce red tape.
• Advocating change and fairness to our judicial system.

Who We Are
Montana Shrugged is a local grassroots TEA Party organization founded in April 2009 after organizing the April 15, 2009 taxed enough already rally at the courthouse in Billings, Montana.
The heart and soul of Montana Shrugged are our extraordinary citizen activists. They organize events, write letters to the editor, and petition their lawmakers to uphold freedom and prosperity. Montana Shrugged has over 1,500 members primarily located in Montana but do include members across the nation.
