For those interested in Montana politics and the bills going through the legislative session, it’s that time when all state legislators take a four day break and go back to thier respective districts and listen to what thier district and constituents have to say. 50 Senators and 100 Representatives will be completing town hall meetings through out thier districts to give an update on the 2011 legislative session.

From topics of Medical Marijuana, Workmans Comp to abortion and noxious weeds are all in the works for different bills to be addressed.  As it’s only Half-time, this is the time to (more…)

Going to the Store

Main Aisle CostCo, Billings MT

While doing errands on the weekend before Christmas we noted the highways and the parking lots filled to the brim with cars and trucks from all over Montana and Wyoming and a few from North Dakota too.

We managed to easily overfill a shopping cart at CostCo, which included a couple of electronic toys to interest our grandchildren, and perhaps not surprisingly, managed to break our single day record of spending in that splendid place.

It only took 15 minutes to get out of the parking lot.

Storage at CostCo

I like their no-nonsense way of storing the stuff they are going to sell us next week or next month and the great samples of some really good food. Keep up the good work dear friends at CostCo.

This is a good example of how a market system works. Both in theory and in (more…)

Operation Smile South of the Border

This article in today’s Gazette tugged at my heart. On the day before we devour our turkeys to celebrate our Thanksgiving, maybe we should all be more thankful that people like plastic surgeons Drs. Peete and Muskett practice in our fair city.

Pappy entertaining the a group of international guest

So it’s been a little while since Pappy has been out and about due to the winter snow in the Montana plains but I’m sure Pappy will continue to start brewing new things for this next summer 2010 events.  From the Pappy Cowboy Cookout’s to the Montana Horseback Rides, now that the weather is about half over, he’s hoping it’s going to get nicer, I wouldn’t be surprized if theres something going on in the background.  Either way, Pappy is planning to attend more  tourism conferences in next year.

It’s only time before we really know what he’s up to.  But until then, Pappy has so many experiences and gigs he’s performed that someone needs to record them.  However, his name is out there but does anyone really know who he is?  The following info is about Pappy McNiven who was born in Wyoming but lives in Billings, MT.
